🏟️ Our Co-operative Serendipity

We helped save a cooperative football club many moons ago and have promoted “Co-opoly, The Game of Co-operatives.” Our journey into cooperatives is an unintended series of serendipity, making The Co-operative Exchange the fourth initiative in a project quartet that includes The Co-operative Knowledgebase, The Co-operative Register, and The New Co-operator, all founded with a shared vision.

🌱 Promoting Co-operative Values

Our mission is to elevate the co-operative brand, impart the principles of cooperativism, and nurture the growth of the cooperative value chain globally, through initiatives like the “Buy Co-op Movement.”

💳 Secure Payments via PayPal

Payments are securely processed with major credit cards through PayPal, using SSL with 256-bit encryption—the same standard used by banks. Our site is PCI-compliant, adhering to the strictest data security standards. (Starting April Fool’s Day, we would no longer accept PayPal payments!)

⚡ Accepting Bitcoin via the Lightning Network

Bitcoin payments are accepted via the Lightning Network. We suggest using recommended wallets. With CoopPay, customers also get a Philippine bank account aside from being able to pay and accepting payments from Lightning wallets. For more on the Lightning Network, check out Lightning.coop.

The project team are members of, has done work for or otherwise had been involved in some of the leading cooperatives around the world, such as the Co-operative Press Limited, founded in Manchester in 1873, Recreational Equipment Inc., founded in 1938, Mountain Equipment Co-operative, founded in 1971, The Co-operative Group, founded in 1863 as The Co-operative Wholesale Society, 1 Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines Life and General Insurance, founded in 1974, Cooperative Health Management Federation, founded in 2014, First Community Cooperative, founded in 1952 as the Ateneo Credit Union, ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, founded in 1981 as the Aces Credit Cooperative Development, Inc., Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative, founded in 1969 as the Sorosoro Ibaba Farmers Association, MutualCapital Advocacy Cooperative, founded in 2019, the Philippine Cooperative Center, the national apex cooperative federation organized in 1995, and other cooperatives.
